Reminder: Important update to Health and Wellbeing Level 2 programme

Kia ora

We are writing to you because you have staff enrolled in Careerforce’s Health and Wellbeing Level 2 programme.

This is a reminder following our earlier communication that Careerforce is updating this programme and a new version will be released on 1 September 2022. The update to Health and Wellbeing Level 2 will require employers to update their Training Plan registered with Careerforce.

Key information
  • Enrolments into Careerforce's current version of the Health and Wellbeing Level 2 programme will close on Friday 26 August.
  • Careerforce's current version of the Health and Wellbeing Level 2 programme expires on 31 December 2022.
  • Trainees who are enrolled in our current version of the programme are encouraged to complete their assessments by mid-November to enable Assessors to register the outcome by 31 December.
  • If trainees are unable to complete their current programme by the end of this year they will be rolled-over into the new version of the programme from 1 January 2023.

Small changes with the updated version
The units in the programme remain the same, however these two unit standards become compulsory to complete:
  • US 20826 – Demonstrate knowledge of infection control requirements in a health or wellbeing setting; and
  • US 23686 – Demonstrate knowledge of a person’s rights in a health or wellbeing setting.
  • And US 23686’s credit value is increased from 1 to 2 credits.

Orientation and Induction programme
Employers who have their own Orientation and Induction programme will need to review their current programme and update it with the Careerforce Moderation team. For more information on how to do this, please review the communication that was sent earlier in August. Careerforce Workplace Advisors are making contact with these employers to discuss their requirements.

The Careerforce Orientation and Induction package is being updated and will be released later this year.

If you would like further information about these changes please contact your Careerforce Workplace Advisor.
