Welcome...
...to the final apprenticeship newsletter of the year. What a year it has been for all of us! Well done for pushing on with your apprenticeship programme despite a very challenging year.

Please note that Careerforce offices are closed for the holidays and staff are taking a wee break. Our offices close at midday on Wednesday, 23 December, and re-open on Wednesday, 6 Jan 2021. Get in touch with your Careerforce advisor if you intend to continue working on your programme during the holidays and to check when they are back on deck. We do have some tips for you on what you may be able to do if you wish to keep the momentum going. However, it's also okay to take a break.

Enjoy the holidays, spend time with your loved ones, and we’ll see you in 2021!
Working through the holiday?
If you feel like doing something during the holidays as part of your apprenticeship programme, here are some suggestions from your Apprenticeship Advisors.
  1. Start researching about an issue or condition that you can write about for your Exceed module.
  2. Document the self-care activities that you do for the Be your own friend module.
  3. Read the learning content on the next module you have to do, and any other resources provided to enrich your understanding.
  4. Note down any questions that you may have along the way so you can discuss them with your advisor next year.
  5. Organise your supporting evidence or documents for your assessments and upload them on Aka Toi. Here’s a guide on how to do this. Read: How to submit files and documents

Have a chat with your Advisor if you need more specific guidance on what to work on.
Apprenticeship Activity Requirements
Just a little reminder that in the August issue of the Apprenticeship newsletter, we covered some changes to apprenticeship activity requirements. These changes only affect apprentices with no modules completed within any five month period. Apprentices with no completed modules within any five month period will go on hold (and considered ‘inactive’ for the  purposes of any applicable Apprenticeship Boost payments), and will be withdrawn after six months. You can check your progress in Aka Toi, or check in with your Careerforce Apprenticeship Advisor if you’re at all unsure, or have any concerns.
